Baseball Update – 5/14/08
The Ontario Varsity Baseball team heads into sectional
tournament play on Thursday, May 15 against Ashland Crestview at
5:00 PM at Bucyrus High
School.
The Warriors are currently tied for first in the NCC with two games left
against Riverdale next week.

Frosh Baseball Results
May 14th, Ontario defeated Colonel Crawford, 14 - 3. Ontario's record is now 7-4 with two games remaining vs Sandusky Perkins at
home on Saturday starting at 11:00 am.
On Thursday, Tyler LaSusa was the
winning pitcher and improved his record to 3-1. He pitched 5 innings and
allowed only one earned run. Eric Wendling pitched one scoreless inning in
relief. The top offensive players for the Warriors were Bryan Wendling who had
4 hits, 6 runs batted in and 2 runs scored; Ryan Timmer who scored 4 runs; Max
Murphy who scored 2 runs; Logan Henke who had 2 hits and scored 2 runs; and
Noah Waterer who had 2 hits and scored 2 runs.
JV Baseball
The Ontario JV baseball team split a doubleheader with Clear Fork last Friday, May 9.
The Warriors lost the first game 7 to 0. Jared Friebel was the losing pitcher
with one strikeout and four walks. Eric Wendling pitched two innings of
relief. Ryan Earhart had two of the team's five hits.
The Warriors
bounced back in game two with a 14 to 4 victory. Travis Snavley was the winning
pitcher with one strikeout and one walk. Mitchell Papst, Jared Friebel and Shane
Gorbett had two hits each. Ryan Earhart, Shane Gorbett, Andy Kopina and Travis
Snavley all hit doubles. Jared Friebel had three RBI's. The JV record is 13-4.
Their last game is this Friday at home vs Lexington.
