Great Job Warrior Fans

Way to go Joe Balogh in achieving 400 victories over your coaching career. Friday's sectional win was certainly a milestone to be cheered. All of us Warrior fans hope that you and your boys continue to rack up those wins as you continue Tourney play!

The Warriors' student section led by the cheerleaders did a fantastic job performing in their role as the sixth man for the team. Be sure to bring all that team spirit Wednesday to Pete Henry Gym as the Warriors take on Western Reserve.

OHS Track Season Officially Begins March 8

Any athlete looking for an opportunity to be a part of a rewarding and competitive program should consider joining the 2010 OHS Track Team. Last year's teams sent 10 competitors to the big show at Jesse Owens Stadium in seven events. The girls were the Division II Champions, placed third at the Regionals, and an astounding sixth place at the State Tourney . Our own Kelly Barnhill was crowned state champion in the shot put with her throw of 42'11 and teammate Ashtan Hibar placed third in the same event. Barnhill also threw for 12th place in the discus event. The 4x200 relay of Nasumbi Beard, Chelsea Dropsey, Lexi Elliot, and Amanda Fowler clocked a 1:43.80 for a fifth place spot. Fowler also gained fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Not to be outdone, the boys had some amazing achievements with Jamey Robson earning the state runnerup title in the pole vault with his jump of 15' (short of his best 15'4"). He was also a member of the 4x200 relay with Jamall Marsh, Jake Miller, and Courtney Ivy as they placed 13th in prelims with 1:31.11. Coach Lyons is especially proud of the 10 NCC consecutive titles his boys have garnered over the years. Looks like the girls hope to build their own tradition by dominating last year's NCC contest with first places in eight individual events and two relays.

Many of these same athletes will be returning this season with the hopes of Ontario scoring even more points at the state competition. You don't want to miss out on a winning tradition!
