Retiring Teachers Honored by Colleagues
OMS faculty recently recognized fellow staff members Mrs. Bobbi Weaver and Mrs. Sue Smith who are retiring at the conclusion of this school year. The retirees are planning to take a relaxing cruise together this coming fall, so staff members chose to provide them with some of the necessary attire. Click on the photo to view.

NCC Track Update...
In yesterday's NCC pole vault competition, Ontario's boys and girls took second and third places. In the current point standings, that places Ontario in first for both teams' competition going into Monday's NCC meet at Buckeye Central. Tonight the Warriors will compete at the Bucyrus Invite along with 12 other schools.
Brianna Johnson vaulted 6'6" to take second followed by Rachel Gombosch's 6' leap for third place. The colder and windy conditions made jumping a real challenge.
Hunter Reed exerted himself into second place with his jump of 9'6". Colton West managed to tie his best leap of 8' to take third.

Girls Keep OMS Warriors' Relay Trophy & Title
The lady Warriors managed to retain their championship title at their relays Wednesday, May 14. The girls outscored their opponents with a total of 99 points to second-place, Ashland - 68, Shelby - 56, Clear Fork - 47, West Holmes - 43, Malabar - 22, Madison - 20, and Lucas - 12.
A total of six meet records fell at the contest with Ontario's girls capturing five. The pole vault trio of Nichole Johnson, Brianna Johnson, and Rachel Gombosch set
a new school record for pole vault with each girl jumping 6' 6". Though the vaulting was halted due to weather
conditions....the girls were in the hunt along with Ashland for breaking a
meet record in that event.
The girls' shuttle hurdle team of Myranda
McAfee, Taylor Elliot, Lexi Hoover, and Amanda Fowler broke the previous meet
record held by Ashland of 1:11.30 with the new time of 1:11.25.
The girls' 4 x 800 team of Chelsea
Johnson, Nichole Johnson, Kendra Alsept, and Brittany Johnson captured the
record with a time of 10:47.07. The three Johnsons, Nichole, Chelsea, and
Brittany along with Audrey Galat then came back to take the Distance Medley
record with a time of 14:16.09.
The sprint medley team of Taylor Elliot,
Paige Rengert, Myranda McAfee, and Amanda Fowler set a new record time of
2:03.53 beating the previous time of 2:04.30.
Finally, the girls' 4 x 400 team of
Chrissy Foltz, Lexi Hoover, Audrey Galat, and Brittany Johnson also set a new
meet record with a 4:30.90 to better the previous best time of 4:32.3.

Boys Take Runner-up Trophy
Ontario's boys fought a tough battle with Ashland, but in the end, the Arrows managed to retain their championship title at the OMS Relays. Following the Warriors in points came Clear Fork for third place, Madison was fourth, followed by Shelby, Malabar, West Holmes, and Lucas.
The Warriors took two first place finishes in the shot put event with Eli Burdette throwing a new PR distance of 40' 1.75" combined with Connor Haverfield's PR throw of 39' 2.25" and Jordan Hoover's best of 35' 10" gave them a total of 115' 2".
In the final event of the evening, the boys 4 x 400m relay, Zac Bartman, Nick Miller, Mitchell Phelps, and Drew Boatwright wowed the crowd with their blazing time of 3:59.8 and first place finish.
The relays went on without a hitch despite the rainy conditions. A special thank you to the many staff members and parent volunteers and team managers who assisted. We truly have many wonderful parents and staff personnel who willingly give of their time to help with our track program.
