My name is Keith Strickler, and it is such an honor to introduce myself as the Ontario Middle School Principal. I not only feel blessed to get to work at Ontario every day, but I am thrilled to lead such a fine school. A place that is filled with amazing students and hardworking, dedicated, expert teachers. It is great that I already know so many of the students because I got to be the Middle School STEM teacher this past school year. Prior to that I was the grades 6 – 12 Principal at Crestline.
Ontario schools have meant a lot to me throughout my life. Not only did I graduate from Ontario but it is where I met my wife, bought a house, and sent my two kids to school. Both of my grandfathers worked here and both of my parents graduated from Ontario. All seven of my aunts and uncles graduated from Ontario and most of my cousins. My uncle retired from Ontario as a math teacher and I love looking at pictures of family that still hang in the halls. Ontario Schools are a family tradition for me. That is why I care so deeply about the school and each person in the building.
My hope is that you will find our school to be a place that prepares you well for life. A place that you can be proud of to call home. A place where you are given the opportunities to grow and experience many new things. It is my philosophy that students at the middle school level should be provided as many experiences as possible. I want them to see what they are good at and what they are not yet, what they like and what they don’t, and which direction they want to take and which ones are not the best for them. A place where they grow academically and where they build lasting relationships with their peers and their teachers.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to be here at OMS and work with the great students, teachers, families, and administrators that call this home. Let’s make it a great year!
