A joint agreement between Ontario Schools and the City of Ontario has placed a School Resource Officer in the

district's buildings for the next three years. Officer Adam Gongwer, married and father of 4 kids, has been with

Ontario Police for 4 1/2 years. His main priority is deterrence, with building/staff/student security a close second. He walks the halls of both buildings remaining highly visible throughout the day. Some teachers have already utilized him in their class introducing him to students, guest reading to elementary age students, and speaking on topics related to school security.
