Spring is Here......Can you believe it is April?

     April 7th.....Sign and Return Grade Cards & Data Folder to school

    May 8th.....EARLY RELEASE..Stingel students released at 2:45pm

Note from Miss Weber:

We are now in the final two months of school and we have a lot to cover to prepare your child for first grade!  It is VERY important to continue to work with your child at home and I know this will get tougher as the weather gets nicer but it is important and valuable to contiue to work on these skills at home! Continue to work on writing unknown words (and sentences) using their sounds, counting objects to higher numbers (11-20), reading simple stories and having your child retell the story to you.  

It is very important that you continue to review the star words with your child as these are the words they need to know for 1st grade!  Please continue to work on correct letter and number formation on the lined paper.   

I am currently taking a book study class on "The Fluent Reader". One thing that we continue to discuss in this class is how IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE reading aloud to child is.  Please continue to read aloud to you child at home.  I now times get busy (they do at school too) and sometimes its easier to say "oh I will read to them tomorrow" but make time to read aloud to your child.  By reading aloud to your child you are reinforcing reading skills like fluency, expression, and good reading skills. Remember........."READING brings Knowledge and Knowledge is POWER!!!"  

A few parents have already asked me about what we do for a end of the year celebration.  We will have a parent planned fun day on May 30th.  I will be sending home a newsletter at a later date regarding this however, I know some parents need to take vacation days.  If you have any questions please let me know.  The fun day will be May 30th from 9 to noon.  With that said.....I wish all of you a HAPPY SPRING!! We will be discussing the end of year before we know it!  It seems like yesterday I was getting to know your child and we were studying about apples & Johnny Appleseed! Wow..this year is flying bye!

Technology is integrated daily into my teaching!!

Miss Weber teaches phonics to her class by using a computer, computer projector, and a special ELMO projector. The lesson is projected on a large white screen for students to easily see and interact with the lesson. Students watch as items appear, disappear, and change colors. Miss Weber can type, underline or draw  arrows to objects as students follow  along. The use of technology is integrated within her daily lessons!
